The right candidate would work from AMT\’s Abingdon office on a combination of municipal infrastructure and water resources projects with a focus on nearby localities such as towns, cities and counties. In this role, you will support a variety of transportation design projects including local roadway improvements with sidewalks, shared use paths and greenways. You will also support water resources projects including spot drainage improvements, flood mitigation, state regulated dams, and stormwater management programs and stormwater BMP retrofits.This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a municipal engineer to help lead our local engineering team. We offer competitive compensation & benefits, flexible work arrangements, and a potential relocation allowance for the right candidate.ResponsibilitiesLeading technical role for municipal transportation projects involving mostly sidewalks and shared use pathsLeading technical role for water resources engineering design, including stormwater and environmental permitting and design approvalsCoordinate internally with other AMT engineers, surveyors, and design professionals on a wide variety of projectsCoordinate externally with local clients and regulatory agenciesEnsure project deliverables are complete, meet client requirements, and follow QA/QC proceduresRequired QualificationsRequired QualificationsBS in Civil Engineering or Equivalent EducationMinimum 10 years of municipal engineering experience including design supervisionHands-On Design experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, preferredVirginia and Tennessee PE licensure, preferredExcellent organizational, project management, and communication skills, both written and verbalProven ability to bring leadership and team building skills to grow the local officeWhy Join AMT?At AMT, we understand that our most valuable asset is our staff.
