The Senior Manager Subcontracts directly impact business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and technologies and developing policies and plans.ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Support projects’ staffing resource staffing plansManage the commercial aspects of the subcontracts from inquiry through award, execution, and closeout of the subcontracts under established proceduresAct as the liaison with Legal regarding Subcontract Terms and Conditions, Project Controls regarding progress and cost forecast, Accounting regarding payment, and Engineering regarding the technical content of subcontractIn association with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management, develop Subcontract sourcing documentationNegotiate change orders and other commercial-oriented matters through closeoutPrepare all Subcontract Reports by established proceduresMaintain proper files and documentation using an electronic document management systemAdminister Subcontracts in the Field from award to closeoutSupervise the daily activities of business support, technical or production staff in an assigned areaResolve standard and non-standard problemsthat arise from the administration of the subcontractUse operational and supervisory expertise to address subcontract execution-related issues within own business lineRead and understand customer contracts and flow required terms and conditions into subcontracts with assistance from legalSet day-to-day direction for team members to support the successful execution of subcontractWork with the budget holder to meet operational objectives set by the project managerUnderstand and explain complex, difficult contract-related issues and obtain agreement as neededManage the performance of employees through task assignments, ongoing skill assessment, and coachingOwn and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and proceduresEnsure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teamsQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering PreferredMinimum of 15 years of relevant experience (Subcontracts)Minimum of 10 years of Oil & Gas Experience with an EPC or OperatorMust have Excellent Communication SkillsStrong knowledge of subcontract policies and processesProven ability to develop, negotiate, and administer complex subcontracts and related policiesDemonstrated effectiveness in prioritizing multiple tasks, monitoring progress, and managing efforts to meet deadlinesDemonstrated effectiveness in working with others in a multifunctional teamAbout UsOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
