You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.A Little More About Your Role…We are seeking a Principal / Associate Transport Planner based in the North of England specialising in business case development and appraisal for active and sustainable transport schemes.Manage a range of transport projects or tasks focusing on business case development and appraisal for active and sustainable travel schemes and transport strategies. This will include working with our other service lines on large multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.Lead the development of high quality business cases and appraisals that enable our clients to unlock funding for sustainable transport solutions..Responsible for the financial performance of tasks and projects and contribute to the commercial performance of our team.Collaborate with our national business case specialists to bid, deliver projects and share good practice, including to upskill colleagues across the business particularly in appraisal and business case development to grow capability and capacity.You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Net Zero, Future Mobility, Transport Communications and other expertise practice groups on a range of innovative strategies and projects for our clients.Your TeamOur Transport Planning North Team incorporates a team of over 100 people across the North, Midlands and Scotland, with close links to our southern transport planning team. We also work closely with our Team Transport colleagues in Strategic Modelling and Liveable Places.We deliver a wide range of transport planning projects for our clients, as well as an extensive portfolio of multi-disciplinary and cross-sector services, including (but not limited to): active travel solutions; public transport network planning; scheme development and appraisal; business case development and Government funding applications for all types of transport schemes; economic appraisal; carbon appraisal and management; consultation and engagement and transport strategy and policy development.The broad range of our services allows our staff to develop their own skills and experiences over a wide portfolio of project work, providing both versatility in workload, and career development opportunities. Our clients are from Local Authorities and National Government Organisations. This provides our staff with the opportunity to work in a range of roles, across multiple disciplines, and realise their career aspirations, whatever they may be.help us to deliver challenging and exciting work for a range of national and regional clients.We are based at Wellington Place in Leeds City Centre just a short walk from the train station.What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…Experience in the development of all five dimensions of transport business cases, advising on appropriate standards and appraisal methodologies including active mode, public realm, public transport, highway, environment, social and distributional and wider economic impact appraisal methodologies.Good project and task management skills developed across a range of transport and multi-disciplinary projects.Some experience in business development and work winning.The ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and ability to adapt approach as necessary dependent on live project requirementsGood spoken and written communication skills.
