Interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures.Perform and document testing. Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.Collect, analyze, and interpret patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret, and report results of sleep studies.Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing. Determine and report needed repairs or replacements.What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.One or more of the following required:Certificate as a Polysomnographic Technologist from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Registered Polysomnographic Technician credential from the BRPT obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Sleep Technician credential from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Education:High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR an Associate\’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.Additional PreferencesBLS required.
