MECHANIC FITTER WANTEDdh Recruitment & Driver Hire Fife are currently looking for a mechanic fitter to join one of our clients based in Kirkcaldy.Salary ranges between £36,000 – £40,000 per year depending on experience.Working full time Monday to Friday every week, for the right candidate this could potentially become a permanent job.️ Job PurposeTo carry out maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs across a broad range of vehicles and plant-including HGVs, Hi-Ab lorries, cars, vans, mechanical excavators, and construction site plant. Your work ensures all equipment is safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times. Key Responsibilities Service and repair:HGVs & Hi-Ab LorriesCars & VansSite Plant (Dumpers, Rollers, Excavators, Small Tools) Diagnose & fix mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults.️ Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. Complete statutory checks (e.g., PUWER, MOT prep). Log all completed work, parts used, and defects found with accuracy.️ Respond promptly to breakdowns and conduct on-site repairs when needed.️ Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.️ Follow all Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
