Role OverviewWe are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced M&E Product Development Engineer to join our team and oversee the successful delivery of new and novel products from inception to completion. The M&E Product Development Engineer will be responsible for liaising with the supply chain, ensuring compliance to standards and specifications, progressing the products through approvals processes, presenting the benefits of the products to clients and industry, coordinating, and executing the delivery of the products into industry while ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise in electrical/mechanical engineering.Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage product development across electrical projects, including new installations, upgrades and renovations.Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to define scope, objectives, and requirements, and develop detailed product plans, schedules, and budgets.Conduct site assessments and surveys to evaluate project feasibility, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.Prepare and review electrical/mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.Lead Business Development opportunities across industry, attending events and presenting the benefits of OCU Group services and products.Monitor progress, track key performance indicators, and manage risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.Manage budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring cost control and profitability while delivering projects within budgetary constraints.Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and resolving issues to maintain strong client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies, promoting a safe working environment and implementing safety protocols and procedures.Skills & ExperienceA degree in electrical engineering. Professional certification or licensure in electrical engineering or project management is desirable.Experience and expertise in High Voltage and Low Voltage systems across multiple industries.Proven experience in product development within the electrical industry, with a track record of successfully progressing new and novel products into industry on time and within budget.Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, regulations, and best practices, with hands-on experience in electrical design, installation, and maintenance.Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks, manage resources, and mitigate project risks.Strong product development/ business development acumen with the ability to foster strong relationships with industry and clients.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and project teams at all levels.Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire project teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and make informed decisions.Flexibility to travel to project sites and work outside regular business hours as needed to meet project deadlines and requirementsCommitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering high-quality electrical projects that exceed client expectations.Company Information:OCU leads the way in end-to-end infrastructure engineering in the utilities, digital, and energy markets, specialising in safely and efficiently delivering complex client requirements.
