Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe\’re seeking a Shop Service Technician to join the team! In this role, you\’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing forklifts and related equipment in one of our W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. shop locations. This is a shop-based position where you\’ll work alongside a team of technicians under the guidance of the Shop Service Manager to complete service orders efficiently and safely.Responsibilities:Perform mechanical inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on forklifts, aerial lifts, manlifts, and other material handling equipment (gas, diesel, propane, and electric)Maintain clean and organized workstations and ensure all safety protocols are followed, including lockout/tagout proceduresKeep detailed records of service and maintenance activities according to company proceduresSupport parts ordering and tracking for repair jobsCollaborate with the service team to resolve repair issues and deliver high-quality resultsClean, prep, and wash equipment as neededOccasionally assist with equipment fabrication or modificationsRequirements:Minimum of 2 years of mechanical repair experience or a combination of education and relevant hands-on workForklift maintenance experience is highlyStrong mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systemsGeneral computer experience to operate diagnostic softwareHigh school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training in automotive, equipment, or hydraulics is a plusStrong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsMust pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screeningPhysically able to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform duties that require standing, bending, crawling, and climbing in a workshop environmentWe Offer:Competitive pay and potential for career advancementSupportive leadership!Comprehensive benefits packageHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Time OffRetirementStable, full-time employment with a well-established companyIndoor shop setting with tools and equipment providedTraining and long-term career development opportunitiesApply today!Company DescriptionW.D.
