Location: Blackmill; Bridgend & Cambrian; TonypandyPay: £50,000 to £60,000 (Depending on Experience)Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pmRoleAs a Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our client protects its workforce, meets its regulatory requirements, protects the environment and maintain high quality standards in the manufacturing and distribution of their various products.You will use your knowledge and expertise to promote a positive H&S culture in the workplace, while encouraging and training appropriate practices to comply with their environmental obligations. You will work closely with other Managers across the business.ResponsibilitiesAs a Health and Safety Manager, you will be working Monday to Friday, to:Take full responsibility for, and be the escalation point for H&S at all sites.Take responsibility for the full H&S remit, from safety briefings, and risk assessments through to development and implantation of H&S strategy in line with regulatory requirements.Take responsibility for our client\’s Management Systems, ensuring they are always up to date and compliant.Drive initiatives to mitigate and reduce operational risks.Support a positive safety culture.Undertake operational tasks including: Risk assessments; Site inspections; Equipment installations.Management and control of the Hazard Tag process.Appropriate record keeping, including accident monitoring, reporting and improvement to reduce further risks.Chair monthly H&S meetings, documenting and addressing actions raised.Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics.Lead, support and enforce appropriate training across all levels.Maintain and update all SHEQ documentation, including policies, procedures and safety work instructions.Work with Compliance Manager to ensure ingoing compliance in all areas.Support, lead and mentor the quality team.Keep up to date with all legislation and maintain a working knowledge of HSE legislation and any developments which may affect our client\’s industry.Be time and cost aware, ensuring efficient management of own workload.Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation, with an emphasis on embracing technology to maximize efficiency.Ensure housekeeping within work areas is maintained at the highest-level ensuring adherence to required standards at all times.Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements.To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business.Skills:NEBOSH Qualified or Equivalent.Previous experience in a H&S Manager / SHEQ Manager role.Previous experience in a fast-paced Manufacturing environment – ideally food manufacturing, packaging or equivalent.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.Demonstrates a good sense of priority, structure workload effectively and delivers consistently good results.Attention to detail across all aspects of the role.Flexible and adaptable to the changing requirements of the business.Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressure.Uses own initiatives to work with minimal guidance.Good IT proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) with the ability to learn and use business specific applications.Experience in negotiation, report writing and presentation.Team building and motivational skills.High level interpersonal and people management skills.Knowledge of management system standards IOS 9001 / 14001 / IOS 45001 / BRC.Understanding of and experience in the management of quality, Health and Safety and Environmental management.Ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.Opens in new window – Please mention as the source of data whenapplying for this jobGet StaffedGrove Place, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK40 3JJ, United Kingdom #J-18808-Ljbffr
