This person should be a gaming industry veteran with strong hands-on experience to join our engineering team. As a part of the team, you will be representing and leading one of our main games engineering groups, helping it to grow, improve, plan, and prioritize work. At the same time, you will become a part of the leadership group, where you will set and plan product vision, actively participate in decision-making, and message the big picture across multiple groups. Our ideal candidate is a passionate individual with experience working on AAA games with live services. Someone who is excited about pushing the limits of what’s possible through applying state-of-the-art technology and best engineering practices to build gameplay that will transform how games are made.In this role, you willLead a team of engineers, to whom you will be communicating vision, setting priorities, and mentoringRegularly both manage and mentor engineering leads and individual contributorsWork hands-on with engineering groups across different departments, brainstorming, architectural solutions, helping in decision making, and similarWork closely with the leadership group, building and shaping product visionPlay an active role in proposing, setting up, executing, and delivering on new initiativesBe a point of contact for cooperation with other Epic teams and initiativesProvide inputs into the product road map, including milestone schedules and deliverablesWhat we\’re looking for10+ years of experience in the game industryExperience shipping a AAA product with live services in a leadership-based positionExperience leading large teams distributed across multiple countries and time zonesA technical leader who excels at giving feedback and has demonstrated capabilities facilitating team successDeep expertise in the product lifecycle for games, such as generating detailed technical requirements, assembling capable teams, executing said requirements, and building robust support systems to manage themStrong engineering background, with an advanced understanding of software architecture, design principles, data structures, and algorithmsGreat communication skills, verbal and written, with experience working in a fast-paced environment with cross-disciplinary teamsExperience working with Unreal EngineAdvanced knowledge of C++Agile and product-oriented mindsetThis role is open to multiple locations across North America and Europe (including CA & WA).EPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEWe pay 100% for benefits except for PMI (for dependents).
