Airport Location: Birmingham Airport F&B Advertised Compensation: $14.00 to $15.50 Summary: The Cook CD – Standard is responsible for preparing cooked foods and must be able to perform all station functions of Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs. Responsibilities include communicating ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers as necessary, performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or management, and providing high-quality service to customers and associates at all times. This is a non-exempt position, typically reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager depending on local requirements. Essential Functions: Follow recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving food items, including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food and beverage products. Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment. Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment. Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices, complying with HACCP standards. Operate kitchen equipment, measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables. Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of products. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards. Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience; work in high-volume or fast-casual dining preferred. Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry operations. Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, policies, and communicate effectively. Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds. Ability to bend, twist, and stand for job functions. Frequent immersion of hands in water and chemical solutions. Frequent use of sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates. Work in hot environments frequently.
