We are looking for someone passionate and experienced in supporting families to overcome relationship difficulties and create positive change. The Conversation Facilitator will play a vital role in supporting families where conflict and communication breakdowns affect day-to-day life and emotional wellbeing—particularly that of children.You will deliver our Take Time To Talk programme in a person-centred way, working one-to-one with parents, couples, children, or entire families. Your aim will be aid understanding in parents and families around a range of relevant factors, open the lines of communication, improve mutual understanding, and help families build healthier, more harmonious relationships and family life. This will involve both individual support and facilitated family meetings, underpinned by mediation principles. You will work closely with the Young Person’s Relationship Worker.Key Responsibilities1. Direct Support and Family EngagementAct as a gatekeeper for referrals, assessing suitability and arranging engagementDeliver needs-led interventions through regular meetings at home, in the office, or at community venuesWork with families to:Identify key issues and set clear goalsFacilitate family conversations using mediation themesProvide guidance on relationships and child developmentExplore creative ways of addressing complex issuesComplete assessments, monitor progress, and support families to exit the programmeEmpower families by building on strengths and working holisticallyMaintain accurate and timely session recordsCollaborate with the Young Person’s Family Relationship Worker on joint support planning2. Safeguarding and Case ManagementRespond to safeguarding concerns in line with TalkFIRST proceduresEnsure referrals are appropriate or signpost to other services as neededMaintain high standards of case recording and conduct regular file auditsEncourage service user feedback and involvementEnsure outcomes are monitored and recordedTake part in supervision, team meetings, and training3. Organisational ContributionComply with all TalkFIRST policies and proceduresPromote TalkFIRST in a positive light at all timesCarry out any other reasonable duties in support of the charity’s work4.
