Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSummaryThe Construction / Mitigation Estimator is responsible for managing a wide range of functions necessary to successfully obtain, bid, and price construction projects. This position requires the ability to write estimates using Exactimate software. The estimator must have at least two years of experience using Exactimate to create accurate and detailed estimates. The estimator is responsible for creating an accurate scope of work, delivering a consistent and complete estimate, and maintaining a high quality of service in all dealings with customers, vendors, clients, and resource providers involved in construction and mitigation services.Primary ResponsibilitiesEstablish customer relationships for construction servicesEducate customer on the construction processWork with customers to understand desired upgrades/changesEnsure that estimates meet client requirementsAnalyze labor, material, and time requirements for a projectCreate an accurate sketch and initial scope of work for construction projectsDeliver a consistent and well-defined initial estimateRecognize project constraints and/or needed upgradesWork with Construction Manager to price bid items, if neededIdentify and document finalized project scope of workWork with outside resources as necessary to complete accurate estimate (i.e., Structural Engineers, ITEL, Electrical Inspectors, etc.)Assemble accurate and well-organized estimatesDeliver and communicate estimate to Construction ManagerEducation and Experience RequirementsBA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field2 years previous construction estimating and/or insurance adjusting experienceSuperb customer serviceEffective written and oral communicationProficient use of Xactimate estimating softwareCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsTeam PlayerPhysical and Work Environment RequirementsWalking and/or standing throughout the dayFrequent driving and sittingOccasionally climbing laddersThe employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heatThe noise level at individual jobsites can be loudNormal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel RequirementsThis is a full-time position, working hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., MondayFriday, 40 hours per week minimum.
