The Department for Work and Pensions is one of the largest Departments in Whitehall, managing the delivering of benefit payments to citizens totalling over £200bn annually. Working in Finance Group in Government, your role is to protect public funds and add value through finance assurance activities.The Change & Mobilisation Team is part of the Payments, Systems & Financial Control Directorate in DWP Finance. The focus of the team is to co-ordinate and lead on the Departments support of the Synergy Programme which exists to transform shared services across DWP, MoJ, Defra, Home Office and their Arm\’s Length Bodies (ALB). Specifically, the team works across all the Finance Global Processes to support the design of future shared services and the new Enterprise Resource Planning system they will operate as well as supporting transformation and business readiness for new ways of working. The transformation will support new ways of working for over half of the Civil Service, impacting around 250,000 Public and Civil Service employees.Synergy’s mission is to make working lives easier and help deliver crucial services by providing systems that are smarter, faster, more intuitive, and are designed around the needs of the user. Transforming the way we deliver corporate services in government, simplifying the way we do things, joining up functions, and showing how deep the benefits of partnership run.Synergy’s objectives are to:Simplify and operate through an optimised Shared Services Centre.Improve user experience.Improve data quality and reporting.Provide service continuity and foundation for service enhancements.Demonstrate value for money.We are looking for applications from people who can demonstrate a passion for transformation to deliver an efficient and high performing Finance function for DWP. You will be part of the DWP team working alongside the other cluster departments and our ALBs to bring your skills to one of the biggest changes to the administration of the Civil Service in decades.This is an exciting opportunity for people with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to work in a fast-paced environment over both Finance and Project Management functional disciplines. The role offers the opportunity to use existing Finance knowledge to broaden your experience in a major change programme.The G7 roles will be responsible for co-ordinating and supporting critical design, business change and implementation across Finance process areas. You will be an advocate for the changes the programme is looking to deliver and be responsible for building and maintaining a strong working relationship both within DWP and across department lines.A transformational mindset, the ability to thrive in ambiguity and switch focus at pace are key to being successful in this role.Responsibilities include:Ensure that Synergy design is implemented successfully through effective business change, communications, engagement and transition into Business as Usual (BAU).Communicate business, functional, and technical information across multiple stakeholders representing the programme/department across multiple forums as required to bring the Department and Programme together towards our common goals.Being an advocate of the ‘Adopt not Adapt’ concept of Cloud adoption, challenging established ways of working to realise the transformational aspirations of the programme and move to Software as a Service for Finance processes.Build and maintain strong effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to confidently represent, challenge, influence and negotiate positive outcomes and solutions.Demonstrate independent and objective analysis and decision making, influencing stakeholders to achieve the collective ambition of transformation across the cluster.Prioritise, change, adapt, iterate and improve at pace, responding to changing priorities.Hybrid workingThis job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need, but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.This role can only be delivered from the UK. #J-18808-Ljbffr
