DescriptionSummaryUnder direction of the Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment, the associate director provides leadership with Undergraduate Admission and is responsible for participating in the recruitment of the first-year class and transfers. The associate director will also lead the transfer recruitment and admission process and will coordinate projects and/or programs based on expertise.Essential FunctionsServe in a leadership role for the Office of Undergraduate Admission in the absence of the dean.Lead the recruitment and admission team for transfer students.Support the planning of key recruitment and yield programs to support enrollment goals.Coordinate the recruitment and application review specifically for a portion of the prospective transfer pool, working closely with the Registrar and program faculty.Establish and implement recruitment strategies in assigned regional and national territories; attend college fairs, college nights, high school visits and other related activities relevant to the recruitment of students and completes annual reports.Develop prospects and high school contacts; meet with students and school counselors, conducts personal interviews both on and off campus; follow up in writing, phone, email or in person; places telephone calls to all interested prospects from assigned territory. Participates in non-recruitment focused programs, panel discussions, and seminars.Nurture school counselor relationships in assigned recruitment territories. Maintains high visibility, sponsors information sessions, luncheons/dinners to build awareness of Regis College in assigned markets and to obtain support in developing contacts with appropriate prospects.Manage and track applications, informing both students and counselors of application status, reviews applicant credentials for admission and scholarships and recommend admission decision.Participate in Committee on Admission for additional review of applicants; this includes presenting files and serving as an additional voice and opinion on admission decision.Share basic financial aid information with families by means of fielding questions, offering suggestions, and clarifying merit and need-based information.Supervisory ResponsibilityDirect supervisory responsibility for admission counselors and/or graduate assistant.QualificationsRequirementsBachelor’s Degree required.Minimum of five years of experience in college admission or college counseling of the equivalent.Must possess a valid driver’s license.A commitment to the College’s goals and mission.Knowledge of higher education administration is preferred.Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail.Ability to follow through consistently on inquiries, requests, and suggestions.Ability to resolve problems and to develop relevant alternatives and recommendations.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations for the College; and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.Ability to form strong coalitions with internal and external constituencies.Working Conditions/Physical DemandsNormal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.May use computer keyboards requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.Requires travel in automobile.Requires work outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends.May require lifting and carrying of recruiting materials.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to do this job.
