As an Aging in Place Technician, you will collaborate with the Program Director to assess community members and their homes, making recommendations to enable and empower them to live independently, comfortably, and safely. Driven by evidence-based research, you will implement modifications in accordance with policies, procedures, and best practices, striving to meet and exceed Givens Home First standards. This position starts as needed, with potential to grow into part-time or full-time roles.What you\’ll do:Assess individuals\’ abilities, challenges, and needs holistically, recommending updates to support independent livingCoordinate with relevant departments and vendors for home modifications based on safety and functional needsIdentify, recommend, purchase, and oversee installation of furnishings and equipment to enhance aging in placeEducate community members on the proper use of medical equipmentFollow best practices during home assessmentsManage stockroom and inventoryPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorsWhat you\’ll need:Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) certification is highly desirable but not requiredBasic inventory control and computer skillsExperience as a handy worker or skilled laborer supporting equipment installation and home modificationsKnowledge of aging processes and proper use of DMEGood public relations and office skillsValid North Carolina Driver\’s License and insured vehicle (eligible for mileage reimbursement)Understanding of aging processes and Durable Medical Equipment functionsCompensation ranges from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.Curious about Givens?
