This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory Health and Safety Regulations and proactively driving benchmark performance in terms of Health and Safety performance.Hours of Work:8.15am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday, one early finish at 1pm; day tbc, 45 minutes unpaid lunch break.Job Purpose:To ensure compliance with all statutory Health and Safety Regulations and proactively drive benchmark performance in terms of Health and Safety performance.Key Responsibilities:Manage the Mergon UK Health and Safety Management System- Update Safety Statement- Carry out Risk Assessments and ensure Risk Assessments are carried out by others as appropriate,- Complete Audits and Inspections,- Identify health and safety training needs and deliver appropriate and regular training programmes,- co-ordinate all employee involvement and communication in relation to Health & Safety issues.β’ Liaise with all other departments to ensure all new processes and equipment and changes to existing processes and equipment meet health and safety requirements.β’ Co-ordinate all emergency response teams and procedures.β’ Manage all accidents and post-accident activity including effective and robust root cause investigation and corrective action implementation.β’ Benchmark and share information in relation to safety best practice within the GroupSkills & Experience:To be successful in this role you will likely haveAt least 3 years\’ experience as H&S officer, ideally in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management systemStrong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practicesExcellent communication skills with ability to influence others and work as part of a teamAbility to work independent and part of a team.Benefits:Competitive Salary34 days holidaysHealth InsuranceCareer Growth and Development OpportunitiesWellness ProgrammeEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP)The document is a guide only and should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
