Adjunct faculty report directly to the Program Director and work collaboratively with the Clinical Coordinator and other faculty within the department.Essential Job FunctionsTeach various courses and/or labs within the DMS program.Collaborate with the program director in the planning, development, and evaluation of required DMS courses and labs.Encourage student learning through instruction, implementation of various course-related activities, evaluation, and review.QualificationsSKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAININGRDMS or RVT certification required for the course or lab being taught. Examples: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, MSK, Pediatrics, Breast or Fetal Echo.Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.Minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience in sonography.Evidence of prior teaching experience or clinical supervision of interns preferred,Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University\’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.Ability to collaborate with other facultyAbility to utilize technology necessary for teaching including but not limited to: Office 365, Moodle, library and other online resourcesWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSNormal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day; move and operate ultrasound equipment including lifting, pulling, bending and squatting.May use computer keyboards and ultrasound machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.Requires travel in automobile.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to do this job.
