  • Reporting to: Head of FP&A and Strategic Financial Planning

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a small but high-impact FP&A team.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A and Strategic Financial Planning, this role will have significant autonomy and accountability for the end-to-end production of management accounts.

The successful candidate will also line manage and develop one team member.

The Management Accountant will work closely with the Finance Director, FP&A team, and wider Finance function, playing a key role in ensuring financial reporting is accurate, insightful, and delivered on time.

The role will also support decision-making in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Management Accounts
  • Take full accountability for the end-to-end production of management accounts.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts for all Group companies.
  • Prepare consolidated management accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly Board and Executive reporting packs.
  • Reporting
  • Produce insightful reporting, including Sales activity, Customer, and R&D reporting.
  • Develop P&L reporting by function, department, and product.
  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Provide management information to the Executive team as required.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Collaborate with other members of the FP&A team to support the production of forecasts and budgets.
  • Assist in preparing supporting packs and analysis for budget and forecast cycles.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, reporting quality, and model governance.
  • Improve accuracy and help reduce the monthly reporting timeline.
  • Proactively implement process improvements and strengthen controls through automation.
  • Leverage financial systems, data, and tools to improve automation, insight, and efficiency.
  • Leadership and People Management
  • Provide direct line management to one management accounting team member.
  • Set goals, provide coaching, support development, and manage performance.
  • Act as a mentor and role model across the wider Finance team.
  • Promote high standards of attention to detail, rigour, ownership, and reporting quality.
  • Ensure consistency, insight, and strong technical standards across reporting outputs.

Skills and Experience Required

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.(Qualified ideally, but if 1 or 2 exams off completion that would be fine.)

Experience

  • Proven experience producing timely and accurate financial information.
  • Experience working in a Saa S or technology-led environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience managing, coaching, or developing others, or clear readiness to step into a people-management role.
  • Experience using financial and operational systems such as SAP, Jira, or Salesforce would be advantageous.

Skills

  • Strong current knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with autonomy in a lean FP&A environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
