An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Family Solicitor to lead and develop a well-established Family Law department within a respected private practice in Wokingham.
This is a key leadership role offering autonomy, strategic input, and genuine long-term progression.
This role is ideal for a Senior Family Solicitor, Family Partner or aspiring Head of Department who is confident managing a caseload, supervising junior staff, and driving business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Family Law team, overseeing performance, supervision, and development
• Handle a high-quality caseload including
- Divorce and financial remedy matters
- Private children work
- Cohabitation disputes and TOLATA claims
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Develop and implement departmental growth strategy
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and referral networks
- Support fee earners with technical expertise and complex cases
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong family law experience
- Senior-level candidate (5+ PQE ideally) with leadership or supervisory experience
- Proven track record in business development and client acquisition
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of family law matters
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
NQ Solicitors will not be suitable for this role due to the seniority required, however strong Senior Associates or Partners looking for a step up into a Head of Department role are encouraged to apply.
