Location: Witham

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 Inclusive of shift allowance

Shift Pattern: Weekly rotation - 05:15-14:00 & 14:00-22:30

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable facilities assistant to join our client's maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of their busy site. This is a hands-on role where you'll be the go-to person for troubleshooting maintenance issues - ideally with experience in electrical / plumbing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations of the site - Plumbing and electrical experience highly desirable
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and building issues promptly
  • Complete routine repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they occur
  • Maintain overall site cleanliness and safety standards
  • Act as the designated first aider (full training provided)
  • Respond quickly to any issues that may disrupt daily operations
  • Support the wider team with maintenance-related queries and solutions

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role OR demonstrable trade skills evidenced in your CV
  • Plumbing and electrical experience highly desirable;
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to shift patterns)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and hands-on approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance issues
  • Basic electrical knowledge (full electrician qualification not required)

Desirable Requirements

  • Forklift licence (training can be provided if needed)
  • Experience across multiple trades/industries
  • First aid certification (though training will be provided)

Please note; due to the hours / shift pattern; if you do not reside in central Witham; you will need to be a car driver as public transport does not serve the site based on the hours.
