A reputable criminal defence law firm is looking to recruit a Criminal Paralegal to support its busy and well-established Criminal Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Criminal Paralegal or law graduate with criminal law experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within criminal defence.

The Role

You will be working closely with solicitors on a wide range of criminal matters, supporting cases from initial instruction through to trial and post-hearing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting on criminal defence matters including police station attendance, magistrates' court and crown court cases
  • Preparing case files, witness statements and legal documentation
  • Drafting correspondence and attendance notes
  • Liaising with clients, police, CPS, courts and counsel
  • Managing deadlines and court listings
  • Providing a high standard of client care throughout proceedings

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Criminal Paralegal or Legal Assistant
  • Strong interest and understanding of criminal law and procedure
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Law graduates with relevant criminal law experience will be considered
