Are you an experienced electrical professional with a background in household appliances, product testing or technical compliance?
Our client is a well-established business specialising in the sourcing, development and supply of household electrical appliances.
Working with international manufacturing partners, they are committed to delivering high-quality, safe and compliant products to the UK market.
They are now looking to recruit a Technical Manager to join their Technical team.
Despite the job title, this is not a people management role.
Instead, you'll use your technical expertise to assess products, drive quality improvements and ensure products meet all relevant safety and compliance standards before reaching customers.
The Role
Working closely with internal departments, suppliers and third-party testing organisations, you'll play a key role throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring products are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
Your responsibilities will include
- Assessing the quality, safety and performance of household electrical appliances.
- Reviewing new products before launch and recommending product improvements.
- Investigating product quality issues, customer complaints and returned products.
- Carrying out root cause analysis and supporting corrective actions.
- Working closely with OEM manufacturers and suppliers to improve product quality.
- Reviewing technical documentation, product test reports and compliance records.
- Ensuring products meet relevant UK and international safety standards.
- Monitoring supplier performance and supporting continuous quality improvements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have
- An electrical background, such as an Electrician, White Goods Engineer, Electrical Service Engineer or similar.
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within manufacturing, product testing or a laboratory environment involving household electrical appliances.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical products and installations.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience investigating product quality or technical issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and excellent attention to detail.
