- Job Type: Temporary (12 weeks)

My client is seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Litigation Lawyer to join their Legal Services team.
This role is crucial for managing a complex litigation caseload, particularly focusing on housing disrepair, and providing high-quality legal advice within a local authority setting.
Day-to-day of the role
- Manage a varied caseload of civil and criminal litigation matters, with a focus on complex housing disrepair cases.
- Represent the client in various courts including Magistrates', County, and High Courts.
- Provide expert legal advice to Members, officers, and stakeholders.
- Draft legal documents, notices, reports, and court documentation.
- Support key service areas within housing and disrepair claims.
- Instruct and liaise with Counsel and external professionals.
- Support and develop junior team members, including trainees.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Litigation Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (with rights of audience in England & Wales), or experienced Paralegal.
- Extensive experience in housing-related disrepair claims.
- Strong experience in litigation, ideally within housing and/or planning law.
- Knowledge of court procedures across Magistrates', County, and High Courts.
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and research skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex legislation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Confident communicator able to engage with a range of stakeholders.
