McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top40 Accountancy Firm who are looking for a Mixed Tax Supervisor (personal tax & corporate tax) to join their growing team in Watford. You will be managing a small team of junior tax staff, be responsible for your own client portfolio and will assist with delivering value-add tax services to Private Client & Corporate clients.

The role would suit an existing Tax Supervisor from a Tax Boutique or mid-to-Top100 /Regional Accountancy Firm, or someone as Tax Senior from a larger firm who is looking to step-up to the next level.

Key duties include:

  • Preparing corporate tax returns (CT600's) for a range of SME & OMB private businesses
  • Preparing personal tax returns / self-assessments for HNWI's, business owners, entrepreneurs & families etc
  • Ensuring tax compliance is completed within HMRC timelines, all tax-related information from clients is obtained and reviewed accurately
  • Assisting the Tax Director with basic tax efficient strategies and tax planning across Corporate Tax and Personal Tax
  • Providing support to clients with any UK tax issues and queries, including being the first point of contact
  • Liaising with other members of the Tax team regarding tax projects for individuals (eg, dividend planning, EIS, CGT, Non domicile, VCT, IHT)
  • Overseeing a team of junior/graduate level tax staff
  • Ensuring that the quality of personal tax & corporate tax work is done to agreed costs and timescales
  • Engaging with local referrers and other external third parties regarding business development
  • Confidently explaining tax issues and options to clients in a non-technical manner

To be considered for the role you should be in a recognisable Regional or Top100 practice and there is a preference for ATT Qualified and/or CTA Qualified individuals. Knowledge and experience of both UK corporate & personal tax issues and management of a client portfolio is required. With excellent team working skills and relationship building skills, you should be able to work well under pressure & strict HMRC tax deadlines yet still deliver on time and budget.

On offer is a salary up to £50,000 plus excellent benefits including 25 days holidays, pension & healthcare schemes and flexible working.
