A highly regarded and long-established independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join its growing Private Client team in Watford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional looking to work with a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, trusts and owner-managed businesses, whilst gaining exposure to a broad range of advisory work within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role You'll work closely with Partners and senior members of the tax team, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of private clients and delivering both compliance and advisory services.
Responsibilities include
- Managing a portfolio of personal, partnership and trust tax clients.
- Reviewing tax returns and technical work prepared by junior team members.
- Identifying and delivering tax planning opportunities for clients.
- Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and compliance checks.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Collaborating with Partners and colleagues on a wide range of advisory projects.
- Coaching and supporting junior members of the tax team.
About You The successful candidate will have
- CTA qualification (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years' post-qualified experience within private client tax.
- Strong personal tax compliance experience with exposure to advisory work.
- Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Up-to-date technical tax knowledge.
- Experience using tax software such as Digita would be advantageous.
