Technical Conveyancer / Conveyancing Team Manager
SJC Legal is currently working with a successful specialist conveyancing law firm in the Manchester area that is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Conveyancer / Team Manager to join its senior management team.
- Salary of £45,000+ depending on experience
- 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Hybrid working – 3 days from home and only 2 days in the office
- Christmas office closure
- Flexible working hours: 8am–4pm, 8:30am–4:30pm or 9am–5pm

Role
This is a senior technical and management position where you will be responsible for managing a small team of Conveyancers and Paralegals, working closely with an existing Team Leader.
Rather than managing your own caseload, you will provide technical oversight across the team, taking responsibility for more complex aspects of residential conveyancing files and ensuring matters are progressed correctly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing and supporting a small team of Conveyancers and Paralegals
- Working closely with the Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day performance and development of the team
- Reviewing and signing off title
- Undertaking and assisting with complex title checks and technical conveyancing queries
- Reviewing bank statements and relevant financial documentation as part of the conveyancing process
- Acting as a senior technical point of escalation for Conveyancers requiring additional guidance
- Reviewing complex matters and identifying potential title issues
The Candidate To be considered, you will
- Be a Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer/CLC or Chartered Legal Executive
- Have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualified experience
- Possess strong technical Residential Conveyancing knowledge
- Be confident reviewing and signing off title
- Have experience dealing with complex title issues and providing technical guidance to other Conveyancers
- Have experience managing, supervising, mentoring or supporting members of a conveyancing team
- Be comfortable delegating work and overseeing the development of others
- Have excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Be interested in moving away from traditional fee earning into a technical management position
- Have the ambition and ability to progress into a senior leadership and ultimately Director-level role
