Head of M&A | £100,000 Package + Bonus | Birchwood | PE-Backed Services Group
Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful, PE-backed services business as they look to appoint a Head of M&A to lead the Group's acquisition strategy and execution.
The role will sit close to the C-Suite and play a pivotal role in shaping the Group's growth strategy, identifying and executing acquisitions whilst working closely with the senior leadership team and shareholders.
Importantly, the role will also be central to the Group's eventual sale, with the successful candidate playing a key role in a significant PE-to-PE transaction.
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the Group's M&A agenda from origination through to execution and integration.
Key responsibilities will include
- Leading all M&A activity across the Group
- Developing and executing the Group's acquisition strategy
- Identifying, assessing and prioritising new acquisition opportunities
- Managing the end-to-end transaction process, from origination through to completion
- Leading financial and commercial analysis, valuation and deal structuring
- Working closely with the C-Suite throughout the transaction process
- Managing relationships with corporate finance advisors, legal advisors and other external stakeholders
- Supporting due diligence and investment committee processes
- Working closely with operational leadership teams to ensure acquisitions are aligned with the wider Group strategy
- Playing a pivotal role in preparing the Group for its eventual exit
- Supporting the execution of the Group's sale, working closely with shareholders and advisors through a PE-to-PE transaction
About You
We are looking for an experienced M&A professional who combines strong technical deal expertise with the commercial credibility to operate at C-Suite level.
You will ideally have
- Strong experience across the full M&A lifecycle
- A proven track record of originating and executing transactions
- Excellent commercial and financial analysis skills
- Experience within a PE-backed environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate comfortably with C-Suite executives, shareholders and external advisors
- The gravitas and confidence to lead transactions independently
- A highly commercial mindset and the ability to identify opportunities that support the wider Group strategy
