An established independent accountancy practice in Wakefield is seeking a Business Services Manager to take ownership of a substantial client portfolio and lead a key function within the firm. This is a leadership-facing role offering direct involvement in the development and direction of the business services team. It will suit an experienced Manager in a larger firm looking for broader responsibility and visibility, or a Senior Manager in a smaller practice seeking a more defined leadership position.
The Role
- Manage a portfolio of non-audit clients with turnover up to £10m
- Oversee delivery of statutory accounts, management accounts, and advisory work
- Lead, structure, and develop a team of approximately 12 staff
- Take ownership of the payroll function, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency
- Act as the primary relationship lead for clients, providing commercially focused support
