AL937: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel, however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruption.
  • Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance, as well as gas cylinder changes.
  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness to carry breathing apparatus and pass a lung function test.
  • Conduct electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) – training provided.
  • Manage the control, handling, and disposal of chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including chemical fills and deliveries.
  • Prepare for preventive maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing processing and ancillary equipment.
  • Support engineers with project work and take ownership of assigned projects where qualified.
  • Work independently on a variety of tasks following documented procedures, with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with logistical operations, including equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, and parts shipping.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
  • Mechanical maintenance engineering experience.
  • Basic electrical knowledge of both systems and safety.
  • Willingness to work overtime during shutdowns or major maintenance periods.
  • Physically fit.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
