NEW PERMANENT JOB VACANCY - FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Are you a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Mechanically Biased Service Engineer seeking employment?!
We are actively seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based in Telford, Shropshire, the standard working hours for this job are day shifts Monday to Friday (39.25 hours per week).
The basic salary will be up to £38,000 (DOE), with overtime opportunities available and paid at T1/2 for anything worked over 39.25 hours in the week and on a Saturday, and double time on a Sunday.
Although the hiring manager is looking for someone who is predominantly Mechanically biased (90% Mechanical), they would like someone who has got some Electrical experience.
Previous welding & fabrication experience is an ESSENTIAL requirement within this job.
We are looking for someone who holds a certificate/qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or similar), and whilst the preference would be to find someone who hs previous experience within the recycling industry, they are happy looking at candidates who have a background in a Heavy Engineering environment that has previously worked on Heavy Machinery or Heavy Equipment.
You will also be entitled to the following benefits

What You Will Do
- Use your skills in welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance to address diverse operational needs.
- Ensure equipment is running smoothly by diagnosing faults and repairing baling machines.

- Adhere to health and safety best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Leverage your expertise in industrial hydraulics and heavy fabrications to deliver high-quality repairs.
- Be prepared to travel for work, both within the UK and abroad, ensuring the company's operations remain uninterrupted.
What You Will Bring
- At least 3 years' experience as a multi-skilled mechanical engineer in manufacturing or a heavy industry environment.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or factory environments, ideally within heavy industry or the waste sector.
- Hands-on expertise in welding (Stick & MIG), fabrication, and general engineering.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to minimise downtime.
- Some electrical experience is desirable, alongside predominantly mechanical ability (approximately 90% mechanical focus).
- A Full UK driving licence (preferably clean) and a valid passport, with flexibility to travel when required.
