Mechanical Fitter / Tester2-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Telford
Salary: £17.80ph (Approximately £36,000+ pro rata), plus overtime opportunities.

We are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters / Testers to join a busy workshop team in Telford on an immediate 2-month fixed-term contract.

Working on the build and testing of material handling equipment, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled fitters seeking a short-term contract with competitive pay and the opportunity to earn additional income through overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical fitting and assembly from engineering drawings
  • Installation of hydraulic components, systems and pipework
  • Machine setup, testing and fault finding
  • Working with hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment
  • Ensuring work is completed safely and to high-quality standards
  • Maintaining workshop housekeeping and accurate documentation
  • Supporting colleagues and sharing engineering best practice

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Proven mechanical fitting experience within machine building, manufacturing or assembly environments
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on safety and quality
  • Suitable Backgrounds
