This is a particularly attractive role for someone who is looking for more than simply managing their own caseload.

You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the continued development and growth of an existing civil litigation department, working alongside an established team and helping shape its future direction.

Importantly, you do not need to bring a following or an existing client book. The firm already has an established client base and a strong platform from which to grow.

Responsibilities will include

  • Managing a broad and varied caseload of civil litigation matters.
  • Providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Handling matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including litigation and advocacy where appropriate.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor at Senior Associate or Partner level, with a strong technical background and the confidence to take an active role in developing a department.

You will ideally have

  • Significant post-qualified experience in civil litigation.
  • A strong technical understanding of civil litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
  • A genuine desire to help build and grow an established team and department.
  • The leadership qualities to support and develop colleagues.

A following is not required. The key requirement is the ambition and enthusiasm to help build on an already successful department and take it to the next level.

Why This Role?

  • Established civil litigation department with an existing client base.
  • No requirement to bring a following.
  • Genuine opportunity to help shape and grow the department.
  • Senior Associate or Partner-level appointment depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to take on greater responsibility and influence.
  • Established Swansea presence and strong local reputation.
  • Supportive environment with scope for genuine career progression.
  • A role suited to someone who wants to make a long-term impact rather than simply manage a caseload.
