The Business

  • Our client is an award-winning independent insurance broker with the scale and insurer relationships to compete with the largest national firms.
  • Independence is central to their identity.

This is not a business waiting to be sold to a consolidator.

Their long-term independence is secured, providing genuine stability for clients and employees alike.

The Opportunity

  • Most Account Executive roles talk about building a book. This one starts with one!
  • As part of long-term succession planning, we are looking for a Commercial Account Executive to inherit and develop an established portfolio of commercial clients from retiring Account Executives.
  • This creates two potential routes into the position.
  • You may already be an established Commercial Account Executive looking for a strong independent platform, an existing portfolio and a long-term home.
  • Alternatively, you could be an experienced Commercial Account Handler, Account Manager or Broker ready to make the step into your first Account Executive role.
  • For someone stepping up, this is a rare opportunity.

Rather than starting with an empty book and a new business target, you will inherit established client relationships from day one, supported by an experienced local team, strong insurer relationships and existing introducer connections.

  • It's an opportunity to make a name for yourself in the South Wales market with many of the foundations already in place.

The Role

  • Inherit and develop an established commercial client portfolio
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and decision makers
  • Lead client meetings, renewal strategy and programme development
  • Work closely with experienced broking and account handling colleagues
  • Develop new business through existing introducers, referrals and your own network
  • Build your personal profile across the South Wales business community

What We're Looking For

Applications are welcomed from

  • Experienced Commercial Account Executives or Development Executives
  • Senior Account Handlers, Account Managers or Brokers ready for their first Account Executive opportunity
  • Experienced Commercial Underwriters looking to move into broking
  • You will need strong commercial insurance knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills and the ambition to develop your own portfolio and reputation.
  • CII qualifications are welcomed, but capability, credibility and personality matter most.

What You Will Get

  • An established client portfolio from day one
  • Genuine long-term succession opportunity
  • Experienced local broking and account handling support
  • Established introducer relationships to develop
  • Fully flexible hybrid working
  • Competitive bonus and long-term incentive plan
  • Excellent pension and wider benefits
  • The backing of an independent broker with the scale to compete nationally
  • Whether you're an experienced Account Executive looking for something different, or an ambitious Commercial Broker ready to take responsibility for your first client portfolio, this is a role well worth exploring.
  • Salary: £45,000 - £90,000 DOE, plus Bonus, Long Term Incentive and Excellent Benefits
  • Hybrid working: Fully flexible
