We're recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent accountancy practice that prides itself on building long-term relationships with both its clients and employees.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Part Qualified Accountant to join their close-knit and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys variety, values flexibility and wants to continue progressing their professional qualifications in a business that genuinely invests in its people.
The Role
Working across a varied client portfolio, you'll play an important role in supporting businesses with their day-to-day accounting requirements while continuing to develop your own technical knowledge.
Responsibilities include
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Bookkeeping and VAT returns
- Assisting with management accounts
- Preparing bank reconciliations
- Supporting payroll where required
- Drafting personal and corporation tax returns for review
- Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital requirements
- Building positive relationships with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
- Using Xero and other cloud-based accounting software
About You
You'll already have experience working within an accountancy practice and enjoy managing a varied workload.
You'll ideally have
- AAT Qualified or ACCA Part Qualified
- 2-5 years' recent practice experience
- Strong accounts preparation skills
- Experience with bookkeeping and VAT returns
- Good working knowledge of Xero and cloud accounting software
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Experience preparing tax returns and payroll would be beneficial but isn't essential.
