Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team, carrying out planned and responsive maintenance across a range of mechanical systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service, safety and compliance, responding to equipment failures and supporting the smooth operation of a busy working environment.

This is a hands-on role suited to a competent Mechanical Technician with strong maintenance and fault-finding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative and responsive mechanical maintenance.
  • Responding promptly to plant and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
  • Maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Working with pressure systems, steam and piped gas systems.
  • Carrying out maintenance across water, HVAC and other building services systems.
  • Supporting the maintenance of automatic doors and other mechanical equipment.
  • Carrying out routine inspections and identifying potential faults or hazards.
  • Working with contractors and sub-contractors where required.
  • Issuing and accepting permits to work in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Supporting compliance with site health and safety requirements.
  • Completing scheduled maintenance in line with daily, weekly and annual plans.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure reliable service continuity.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Technician or similar maintenance role.
  • Strong practical mechanical maintenance and repair skills.
  • Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and processes.
  • Experience working with pressure systems, steam and/or piped gas systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for maintenance activities.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including outside standard hours when required.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
