We are recruiting a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager on behalf of a leading independent accountancy and business advisory firm in Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified CTA professional or an experienced Corporate Tax Senior looking to step into an Assistant Manager role. You'll join a growing tax team with a strong advisory focus, working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses across a broad range of corporate tax matters.

The Role

  • Working closely with Tax Managers and Partners, you will support the delivery of a wide range of corporate tax advisory projects while continuing to build your technical expertise.
  • Assisting with corporate tax advisory projects for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
  • Supporting tax planning and advisory assignments across a range of tax matters.
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities within client portfolios.
  • Reviewing corporate tax compliance work and using this to support advisory projects.
  • Carrying out technical research and preparing written tax advice.
  • Attending client meetings and building strong client relationships.
  • Working closely with colleagues across tax and business services teams.
  • Supporting Partners and Managers on complex advisory assignments.

About You

  • CTA qualified (or recently qualified).
  • Strong UK Corporate Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience working with SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
  • A solid background in corporate tax compliance.
  • An interest in developing your corporate tax advisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach.
  • Previous tax advisory experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
