About The Role:

The main purpose of this role is the cleaning of customers' aircraft externally and internally to the highest standard possible in an efficient and timely manner. Support of Engineering Department / Operations Department as directed by the Hangar Superintendent and/or Engineering Manager. General cleaning duties within the facilities and Stores duties as directed.

Please note the company is NOT able to offer sponsorship for this role so candidates must already possess the right to live and work in the UK to be considered.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintaining the appearance of all cabin interiors and aircraft exteriors to the highest possible standard in line with maintenance requirements as laid down by customer cleaning checklists.
  • Ensure any cleaning requirements are detailed in the shift hand over book and any cleaning in progress outstanding at the end of the shift is correctly itemised and brought to the attention of the next shift.
  • Itemise and provide to the Shift Supervisor details of all time and materials expended in cleaning customer aircraft to assist in billing.
  • Ensuring that all aircraft flight decks are clean and tidy prior to departure.
  • Ensuring that all toilet and potable water servicing is correctly carried out and in a timely manner.
  • Carry out any carpet shampooing or other heavy duty cleaning requirement as required.
  • Advise Shift Supervisor / Hangar Superintendent if any items of interior or exterior require rectification or attention.
  • To assist Rise & Shine Aircraft Valet Services - 'A wholly owned Harrods Aviation Business', with on-site and off-site aircraft detailing, as agreed with the Engineering Manager.
  • To liaise with supervisors and/or licensed engineers for cleaning requirements of aircraft components during base maintenance.
  • Clean aircraft exterior and brightwork areas.
  • Keeping the hangar clean and presentable at all times, emptying of waste bins, waste oils/fuels containers and cleaning of equipment.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have experience of working in a similar role, within the aviation industry, or high-end car dealerships/valeting. Knowledge of specific cleaning products for a variety of surfaces, such as leather and fabric is advantageous. Applicants should also have an enthusiastic, willing personality with a sense of humour and the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. Good communication skills combined with courtesy and integrity are essential.

Working Hours:

The Stansted Engineering department generally operates Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (40 hours per week). Overtime as and when required is agreed with the Hangar Superintendent or Engineering Manager in advance, for which you will receive the options of payment or lieu time. You are expected to work flexibly, as the needs of the business require. On occasions, alternative working hours may be required which could include weekend/bank holiday working.
