This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a long-established M&E design consultancy, where you will work on projects from initial design through to completion, with genuine progression opportunities through to Senior Engineer.
This established M&E consultancy has been operating for over 70 years and has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality building services design across a range of technically demanding sectors. The business benefits from a high level of repeat work and works with several long-standing clients across commercial, industrial and secure environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing mechanical designs, calculations, drawings and specifications, while working closely with clients and the wider design team. You will also have the opportunity to attend sites for surveys and testing, respond to RFIs, and see projects through from initial design to completion.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Some commercial or industrial mechanical design experience
- Strong mathematical and technical skills
- Experience producing mechanical calculations and specifications

The Role:
- Producing mechanical designs, calculations, drawings and specifications
- Designing and routing mechanical systems including pipework, ductwork and airflow systems
- Preparing plans, specifications and schedules for mechanical works
- Producing reports in support of design concepts and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Using software such as IES, Dialux and CAD
- Attending sites for surveys, inspections and testing where required
- Responding to RFIs and supporting clients throughout the design process
- Reviewing installation progress, quality and performance
- Supporting the design team with operation and ongoing maintenance requirements
- Taking projects through from initial design through to completion
