The predicted salary is between 38250 - 46750 Β£ per year.

We are seeking a Vehicle Damage Assessor / Controller to oversee the assessment, coordination, and cost-effective repair of vehicle damage across our fleet. This is a key role responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient repairs, while maintaining strong relationships with third-party repairers and keeping vehicles on the road with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Damage Assessment & Technical Evaluation
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage to determine structural, mechanical, and cosmetic repair requirements in line with manufacturer and safety standards.
- Identify appropriate repair methods using manufacturer repair data, guidelines, and workshop capabilities.
- Evaluate whether repairs are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
- Review supplementary damage discovered during disassembly and update repair plans accordingly.
- Repair Coordination & Liaison
- Liaise with third-party body repair facilities to coordinate repairs and timelines.
- Manage communication between repairers, internal teams, and suppliers.
- Monitor repair progress and ensure agreed turnaround times are met.
- Support workflow management by coordinating parts ordering, job progression, and repair sequencing.
- Cost Control & Decision Making
- Ensure repair decisions are cost-effective and transparent.
- Balance safe repair practices with business needs, insurer policies, and customer expectations.
- Review repair estimates and authorisations.
Skills & Experience Required
- Essential
- Experience in vehicle damage assessment, bodyshop, or repair control.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment.
- Ability to liaise confidently with repairers and suppliers.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable
- Experience within vehicle rental, fleet, or accident management.
- Knowledge of ADAS systems and modern vehicle technologies.
- Estimating system experience (Audatex / GT Motive / similar).
- Mechanical knowledge or bodyshop background.
