Tax Manager – Responsibilities
Portfolio leadership
- Take full ownership of a portfolio of around 250 personal tax clients and returns.
- Manage compliance deadlines and quality across the portfolio, acting as the main point of contact.
Client advisory
- Build relationships directly with clients, identifying opportunities to add value beyond compliance.
- Develop into trust work, tax planning and Corporation Tax advisory as the role matures.
Leadership & team development
- Support and review the work of junior team members involved in the portfolio.
- Act as a technical point of reference for personal tax queries within the firm.
- Tax Manager – Requirements
- ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience with strong personal tax expertise).
- Proven experience managing a personal tax portfolio within a practice environment.
- Strong technical grounding in personal tax compliance; exposure to trusts, planning or Corporation Tax is a plus.
- Confident, personable communicator who builds client trust easily.
- Background in accountancy practice (rather than industry/in-house) preferred.
