Key Responsibilities

As the Accounts/Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of exciting tasks, including:

  • Uploading purchase invoices into Xero with precision.
  • Creating payment schedules and processing bi-weekly payments.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including postponed VAT.
  • Raising invoices, ensuring correct CIS deductions and VAT rates.
  • Reconciling bank and credit accounts while addressing banking queries.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding invoicing, credit limits, and payments.
  • Conducting age debtor analysis and managing credit control.
  • Keeping Directors informed on the company's financial position through insightful project financials, sales mix analysis, and profit & loss reports.
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts to guide the organisation's financial planning.
  • Collaborating with external accountants to provide necessary information for annual accounts.
  • Working closely with the team to ensure our project management system reflects payments received from clients.
  • Managing company expenses by uploading cash receipts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Supporting long-term strategic planning with your financial analysis expertise.

Essential Skills

To excel in this role, you will need

  • AAT Level 4 qualification as a minimum requirement.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
  • Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
  • Solid experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • A keen attention to detail and excellent arithmetical skills.
