An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Part time Family Legal Secretary to join a well-established and friendly law firm based in Southampton, working 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday ( start and finish time can be flexible).

Working alongside experienced Family fee earners, you will provide comprehensive legal and administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth progression of matters while delivering an excellent standard of client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence, including tracked changes and comparison documents
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings
  • Opening, maintaining and closing legal files
  • Preparing client bills and supporting file management
  • Liaising with clients and third parties by telephone and email
  • Audio and copy typing
  • Providing general administrative support to the Family team

About You

  • Previous legal support experience within a law firm
  • Experience within Family Law is advantageous but not essential
  • Candidates from other areas of law looking to transition into Family Law are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
