TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading mid tier firm of chartered accountancy practice in their search for a Private Client Tax Manager to join their highly regarded team in Sidcup.

This is a newly created position that has arisen as a result of the firm's continued growth, making it an excellent opportunity to join a thriving and expanding Private Client Tax department with genuine long term career prospects.

Working within a collaborative and highly technical team, you'll advise an impressive portfolio of high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, families and trusts, delivering bespoke tax planning solutions across a wide range of complex private client matters.

This is a predominantly advisory role, with oversight of compliance work, offering excellent exposure to challenging and rewarding projects.

The Role

As a Private Client Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include

  • Managing a portfolio of high net worth and ultra high net worth private clients.

Delivering proactive tax planning and advisory services across a wide range of private client tax matters.

  • Reviewing and overseeing personal tax compliance whilst maintaining a strong advisory focus.
  • Advising clients on residency, domicile and international tax issues, including the new long term residence, Temporary Repatriation Facility (TRF) and Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) rules.
  • Advising on historic non domicile, remittance basis and mixed fund matters.
  • Providing guidance on the UK Statutory Residence Test and double tax treaties.
  • Advising on UK and offshore trust structures, succession planning and wealth preservation.
  • Delivering Inheritance Tax planning advice, including trusts, wills, Business Relief, Residence Nil Rate Band, pensions and other available reliefs and exemptions.
  • Advising on property holding structures and Family Investment Companies.
  • Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and responding to HMRC nudge letters.
  • Preparing high quality technical reports and presenting complex advice in a clear, commercial manner.
  • Managing client relationships, budgets, fee estimates and billing.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team while working closely with Partners and Directors on advisory projects.

Requirements

We're looking for an ambitious Private Client Tax professional who is seeking a long term career within a growing mid tier accountancy practice.

You'll ideally have

  • CTA qualification
  • At least two years' post qualification experience.
  • Experience advising high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals within a Mid Tier or Big Four accountancy practice.
  • STEP qualification would be advantageous.
  • Excellent technical knowledge across private client taxation.
  • Strong report writing and advisory skills.
  • Experience managing billing, fee estimates, budgets and client expectations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • A stable career history with a genuine desire to build a long term career within a growing team.
