A well-established environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their growing team in Sheffield. This is a hands-on role for an experienced geoenvironmental professional looking to take technical responsibility for projects while continuing to develop their career.

You will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, providing geoenvironmental consultancy from initial site investigation through to remediation and reporting.

The Role

  • Manage and deliver geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects from inception through to completion
  • Plan and supervise Phase 1 and Phase 2 contaminated land investigations
  • Coordinate and interpret ground investigation data
  • Undertake contaminated land risk assessments and develop conceptual site models
  • Review laboratory analytical data and assess potential pollutant linkages
  • Prepare Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigation Reports, Remediation Strategies and Verification Reports
  • Specify and oversee remediation and validation works
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, regulators and other consultants
  • Support junior consultants and provide technical guidance across projects
  • Assist with project budgets, programmes and resource planning
  • Contribute to fee proposals, tenders and business development

About You

  • Degree qualified in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology or a related discipline
  • Strong commercial experience within geoenvironmental consultancy and contaminated land
  • Previous experience managing contaminated land and ground investigation projects
  • Good understanding of UK contaminated land legislation, guidance and risk assessment
  • Experience with Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 investigations and remediation
  • Strong technical report writing skills
  • Confident dealing with clients and other project stakeholders
  • Ideally working towards or holding Chartered status with a relevant professional body
  • Full UK driving licence
