We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a long-established commercial laundry business based in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful family-owned company that has been operating for over 130 years.

The Role
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team of five, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of commercial laundry machinery and equipment to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
This role is ideally suited to a mechanically biased engineer who also possesses good electrical fault-finding skills.
Formal electrical qualifications are not essential, but you should be comfortable working with electrical systems and diagnosing faults.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault finding
- Mechanical repairs and component replacement
- Basic electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Supporting machinery upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety
Requirements
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing, production, laundry, FMCG or similar environments
- Strong mechanical maintenance skills
- Good electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours per week
Please note: As part of this role, engineers are expected to work an additional 5 hours overtime on either a Saturday or Sunday on approximately 46 weekends per year.
These hours are paid at time and a half and form part of the expected earnings package.
There are also further overtime opportunities available for those wishing to increase their earnings.
