Find Core are thrilled to be assisting an award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with the recruitment of a Geotechnical / Geo-environmental Engineer.

Permanent position. This role will be based at the company's Sheffield office, with travel to sites across Yorkshire and surrounding areas where required.

This is a technical position with a clear pathway towards Technical Director / Director level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geo-environmental, contaminated land and geotechnical projects from inception through to completion.
  • Design, procure and supervise site investigations and remediation works.
  • Interpret factual and interpretative ground investigation data.
  • Prepare and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, remediation strategies and verification reports.
  • Undertake and review generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments.
  • Manage project budgets, programmes and resources.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across the team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Support business development, bids and tenders.
  • Mentor and develop junior Engineers and Graduates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
  • Strong UK consultancy experience within geo-environmental engineering, contaminated land or geotechnical engineering.
  • Good technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and supporting project teams.
  • Strong report-writing and technical-review skills.
  • Commercially aware with confident client-facing abilities.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior professionals.
  • Chartered status with the Geological Society, ICE or similar would be highly advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
