At their site in Sheffield, they require a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join their dynamic and hardworking team on a permanent basis in the heavy industry department.

THE BENEFITS:

THE ROLE:

  • Working on a shift basis covering the electrical operations requirements of a heavy engineering plant.
  • Electrical maintenance of all motors and drives.
  • Fault finding on electronic cards to component level.
  • Maintenance of the mill thyrisitor drives.
  • Electrical maintenance of overhead D.C. and A.C. cranes.
  • Maintenance of PLC systems, specifically ABB and Allen Bradley.
  • Use of programming tools to identify faults on PLC systems and change parameters as required.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the furnace control systems, calibration of controllers and the air/gas transducers, changing of thermocouples and the lighting procedure of furnaces.
  • Reacting to breakdown requirements and safely/quickly identifying faults to minimise the impact on production.

Working 4 on, 4 off, no weekends. Salary: £41,422.09 plus 18.67% shift allowance £49,155.59.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Education to H.N.C. Level in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • A basic understanding of P.C. based software, Excel etc.
  • An understanding and ability to interpret electrical drawings.
  • Experience in writing reports detailing the activities during shift.
  • Experience in working to safety legislation relevant to operations and electrical maintenance.
  • Experience in adhering to S.W.P.'s, risk assessments, I+I procedures and the permit systems, as well as I.E.E. Regulations.
