With projects spanning multiple food sectors and installations in over 60 countries, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering complex, high-value engineering projects from concept through to commissioning.
We're looking for a commercially minded Project Manager with extensive experience delivering large-scale capital equipment or industrial automation projects.
You'll be the driving force behind project success, leading cross-functional teams, managing customer relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of major engineering projects throughout their full lifecycle, including:
- Leading projects from contract award through to installation, commissioning and final customer sign-off.
- Developing and managing detailed project plans, budgets, milestones and risk registers.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout each project.
- Working closely with Sales, Design, Manufacturing and Installation teams to deliver bespoke engineering solutions.
- Presenting technical concepts, layouts and project updates to customers and key stakeholders.
- Managing project profitability while identifying opportunities for additional revenue.
- Coordinating manufacturing schedules and installation activities to meet project deadlines.
- Supporting on-site installation and commissioning activities when required.
- Ensuring all documentation, technical records and project reporting are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Driving continuous improvement across project delivery, product design and manufacturing processes.
Essential
- Degree or HND qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Significant Project Management experience within capital equipment, industrial automation, food processing machinery or a similar engineering environment.
- Proven success delivering complex, high-value engineering projects from concept through to on-site commissioning.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and customer relationships.
- Experience specifying mechanical equipment such as conveying systems, motors, pneumatics and fabricated structures.
- Experience using CAD software (Solid Works preferred) and project planning software such as MS Project.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience within the food processing or food manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge of hygiene design principles and food industry standards.
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic control systems.
- Sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing knowledge.
- Formal Project Management qualification (Prince2, PMP or equivalent).
