The Opportunity

An established food manufacturing company in the Scunthorpe area is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced production environment, supporting the reliability and performance of a wide range of processing and packaging equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance activities, helping to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance tasks and breakdown repairs on a range of food processing machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
  • Conduct machinery repairs, upgrades and modifications.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and report findings.
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities using the site's CMMS system.
  • Identify spare parts requirements and liaise with the engineering purchasing function.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability projects.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure maximum equipment availability.

  • Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience with both mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or automated production environments is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a shift engineering team.
