Are you an experienced Practice Accountant looking for a part-time role where you can manage a portfolio of clients, take ownership of accounts work and provide valuable advice to a range of businesses? A well-established accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Accounts Senior / Assistant Manager to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong practice background who enjoys a varied role across accounts, VAT, CIS and client advisory work, while also supporting the development of junior colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and reviewing client accounts up to management accounts level, ensuring work is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT and CIS returns, alongside supporting clients with Making Tax Digital and Income Tax Self Assessment requirements
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact and providing clear, practical guidance on accounting and financial matters
  • Supporting clients with accounting and bookkeeping software, helping them improve processes and maintain accurate financial records
  • Working both in the office and on-site at client premises, building strong relationships and understanding their individual requirements
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, helping to develop their technical skills and confidence

Requirements:

  • AAT / ACA / ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Strong experience across accounts, VAT and CIS, with the ability to prepare and review client work
  • Confident using accounting and bookkeeping software and supporting clients with its effective use
  • Strong communication and client management skills, with excellent attention to detail
